What next? The restless nature of a gemini always forces me to ask this question from myself time and again.. The current project was a big challenge and i have succeeded in it to a reasonable level, so as to make a decent position for me but what next?? Got a laptop now even though it is not official for my position.. Unlucky at job scene once again, no news from 2 interviews at big companies recently. Going on travel from 29 dec to 2 jan to place near Jhansi, hopefully will be a nice change and i should have some nice snaps from my camera. Been sometime that i really clicked the way i like.. Car insurance this time is from reliance general insurance and is till yet to come, very shoddy service..been more than 20 days since they encashed my cheque... Car servicing- i.e. engine oil, oil filter and air filter change this time was through the local mechanic.. From next time onwards i am certainly going to avoid the authorised workshops for servicing,,take too long and expensive. Also u cant see whatever they are doing to your car.. Ubuntu exploration is over to an extent, and it has been a fun experience learning linux and easy it has become now. December 14 Radio MirabaiI finally found one radio Internet station which broadcasts devotional music. To my surprise it is Radio mirabai from Brazil. I never knew we had some sizeable indian population in brazil? I am loving listening to Shoutcast radio.... December 10 Things on my mind..Since very long i have wanted to fix fog lamps/lower lights on my Fiat petra..The problem is that the bumpers have not been provided those slots. I also have not been able to discover one reliable and recommended car accessories shop that has a large variety.. Need to do some research work at this end... Delhi winters are getting better by the day and so my oil heater is out..But nothing beats the Hot tea in winters and the heavenly feeling you get sleeping in a heavy quilt in afternoon...<bliss> Winters is the time to pamper oneselves, creams and oild for your skin,,some variation in clothes with sweaters, suits etc, and some lovely fooods and drinks.. Some more reasons to use firefox 2.0 is spelling check while typing, i was missing this feature badly and it came as heavenly sent..Also the best part is the extensions. Scrapping on Orkut become so fast and fun.. World is moving more and more towards open source..Personally i am getting more and more biased towards them,, started using Ubuntu OS at home, open office in my office and open source testing tools.. November 26 Shoutcast on VLC media playertoday i accidentallyaccidently discovered shoutcast radio in the VLC media player and it has so many radio stations to listen to..I am just waiting to get my sound card and listen to all the lovely music. The variety is just so awesome :-) 1. Go to view-playlist on the VLC media player. 2. Then Manage-->service discovery-->shoutcast radio listings. This should be enough to get you all going..... skype and linuxThe error handling of skype on Linux looks to be so lame. When i run skype on my Ubuntu it shows problem with the sound device. What is the problem? god knows... coz all songs play fine.. Tried to run it from terminal and no error is shown on the terminal. I had a very high opinion about skype and they let me down.. November 15 Getting away with murder

November 07 Talking about Sambar of 69'
Quote Sambar of 69' November 04 Nainital here i comeNov 11 weekend will be another weekend trip to nainital. Travelling by the Kathgodam express. I hope to capture some good pics with my Kodak this time.. October 23 Noida flyover start construction againThere were few pillars for flyovers on the sector 18 T point and more at the junction of Greater Noida expressway. They were just blocking the road for more than few yrs now,,but atleast now i see the contruction happening. Though it would take more than a year to get them completed, but atleast it is much better than stubs of flyover pillars blocking half road... October 15 Bye Bye ABN AMROi finally broke my ABN AMRO credit card and mailed it to the bank. The bank apparently does not handle post dated cheques. When i asked the bank to return my post dated cheque, they did not, but asked me to issue a stop cheque instruction on the post dated cheque and issue a fresh one. I did not issue a fresh cheque and on the said date they encashed my previous post dated cheques. So ABN AMRO handles post dated cheques when it likes.!!! I had to also struggle with the bank to get the reward points redemption coupons. It took few calls, and many emails and finally trashing of the card to get the bill. ABN card was more risky simply because of my salary account with them and ABN has the reputation of taking out money from ur savings accounts against the credit card charges with some false authentication. Apparently when you open your bank account there is a cheque box to authorise the bank..the Bank cheques this box when it needs and therefore you do not have any official case against them...V V SMART. ABN also add some insurance charges to your card every year. If u are not interested then you are supposed to call them and get it cancelled. The cancellation does not happen with just one call. Sometime i think do they get paid by phone company for making us call??? October 12 Talking about FDI in retail must be allowed

September 18 Not buying a new systemi just installed Red hat linux on my PC and was amazed by the ease it installed. It made my system as dual bootable, my XP stays. I was thinking of buying another system simply because the XP was slowing down my system. Linux has almost everything (i am facing some problem with sound from speakers). The net appears to work faster, it loads faster, the messengers are there and all the imaging applications and all..So instead of buting a new machine i just upgraded my had disc, installed Linux,,now am goood :-) August 23 Back from Lehwent to Leh for 9 days from 11 aug to 20 august. Went via manali and keylong. Took volvo to manali and then scorppio from there to Leh. Tiring but fun journey. Went through the 3 highest passes of the world. Kudos to indian army for maintaining the roads at such altitudes. Went to Pangonog Tso lake, the highest Brackish water lake in the world and the biggest lake in Asia. Saw mountain camels in Nubra valley at an altitude of 12000 feet.. Will be trying to upload my pics sooon... August 09 Changing blog URLMSN spaces seems to be having fun with the blog URL. they changed it 4 times in a year....from spaces.msn.com/members/bugmann to spaces.msn.com/bugmann to bugmann.spaces.msn.com to now finally as http://bugmann.spaces.live.com/ I hope the buck stops here finally. Been a long break from blogs,, was busy getting back in india and settling the things in home and office. They are pretty OK now. Upcoming is the trip to leh on the coming weekend. For more details check http://lehtrip.blogspot.com/ . This is a blog created by the friends i am going with. In this month also went to see the Bhakra Nangal dam. While going there i was preety sure about the route however the people i was going with were 2 informed and at one cut where we asked one rickshaw waala for the route he told us an alternative route and the last 26 km on the road were like hell. road was single and that too broken heavily. I now am sure that i need to get my car belly checked up and my wheel balancing done. We found that Naina devi was about 18 km from the Bhakra dam so went there too. It was a heavy rush there. Mom despite her arthritis braved to walk all the stairs etc and finally reach the temple. There was immense rush at the entry. We decided not to go in. Dad tried to enter through the Exit gate the guard obliged and then both mom and dad went through the back door and had darshan. I felt very good for both of them, like something achieved..Specially after the hard trekking that mom had to do.. Also went to Big bazaar in Sahara Mall gurgaon on the weekend. This time decided for good to not to go to that place atleast for groceries and stuff. it all is expensive and useless, and time taken at exit is 2 high.. I found some good shirts there at decent price and bought 2. There was a scheme to get 50% off on second shirt.. July 02 Bharat ka rehne waala hoonJust remembered this song today from the movie poorab aur paschim
On my flight from New York to Vienna enroute to New delhi i was sitting with a guy who was going to romania. We started ytalking from IT to indian history. Then i told him the facts about indian history. We gave the zero and about vedic maths. The detailed astronomy we had in the old times. The indus valley civilization, the usage of bricks there and all so many small things. We have 25regional langugaes in india but still we are one india.
How the english ruined India during thier rule, stole our kohinoor and broke it into pieces. Tjos brings to memory a statement by my brother--the elizabeths museum in UK is the thieves museum. They show stolen stuff from world over there.
Another interesting thig he asked, whether english have ever said sorry to india..have they apologised?? This thought never occored to me. Maybe we have forgiven them. India never invaded another nation in its entire history, people invaded india and we had to defend ourselves. India is working towards makings end meet and maybe make a better future.
Then people say is India poor, then again the answer i give is both yes and No. Villages are still far behind the cities and people have to struggle, but the metro cities are almost like any other big cities in the world.
He said that outsourcing occors because the indians are economical. I said yes because of the dollar to rupee advantage but still we in inidia have almost all the things and standard of living that you have in developed countries. Additionally we can afford a chaueffeur and maids in our salaries, whereas u cant :-D June 27 Talking about MYSQL and open source
